Single use alumina columns run under normal phase conditions and offer different selectivity to silica.  Choose basic alumina to purify basic compounds without basic modifiers such as TEA or ammonium hydroxide. This avoids solvent swapping, washing the chromatography system, or contaminating subsequent runs.
